The World Energy Council Remembers José Vicente Camargo

It is with great sadness we have heard the news of the death of José Vicente Camargo, former Secretary of the Colombian Member Committee.

José Vicente was a champion of the Latin America electricity sector, deeply knowledgeable about energy integration and he a was highly valued contributor to the World Energy Council's regional agenda.

José Vicente was key in the foundation of the Colombian Member Committee of the World Energy Council in 2007 and was part of the force behind its growth and evolution acting as the committee´s Secretary. His ideas were both pragmatic and visionary, helping to shape the Council’s development, often in challenging times. He was also an instrumental part in the organisation of the 2014 Executive Assembly hosted in Cartagena.

Our respect and deepest sympathies go out to José Vicente’s family, friends and our Colombian Member Committee.

We also extend our thoughts to others in our worldwide member community who have, and are, experiencing tragedy and loss at the current time.
