Only two weeks to go until the Italian Member Committee of the Council host's this year’s World Energy Week in Milan.
The Council’s annual general gathering of global energy leaders to promote the sustainable supply and use of energy for the greatest benefit of all, will take place from 8 to 11 October, offering a wide range of activities and networking opportunities for the global energy community, including high-level, exclusive sessions that will convene Ministers, CEOs.
2018 World Energy Week aims to deepen issues related to the Energy Transition including topics such as dynamic resilience, digitalisation and blockchain, green financing, integration and sustainability of energy systems. In addition to the global dimension, the meetings will cover themes related to the development of secure, affordable and sustainable energy systems within the Euro-Mediterranean area, Middle East, Asia and African regions.

Focus on Italian Energy Day

The Italian industry landscape, will play a huge role in the Summit. Italian experts will have the opportunity to share their best practices and knowledge on issues such as digitalisation, development of smart energy, mobility and sustainable finance.
Finally, beside networking and the fore-mentioned events, other interesting activities in association with the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI), the Observatoire Méditerranéen de l'Energie (OME) and GO15 (Global Network of Power Grid Operators), will take place within and outside the official venue. They will offer a deep insight into specific aspects such the role of the energy transition from a global, Mediterranean and Italian perspective. The success of the 2018 World Energy Week relies on the support of a wide network of partners and supporters to ensure that more than 400 representatives from industry leaders, the Council’s government constituencies, ministerial delegations and global industry stakeholders can participate in the event and engage in high-level corporate and institutional summits.
This initiative confirms Milan as a city at the heart of the debate on energy and sustainable development, highlighted in the UN 2030 Agenda.
