Sofia has worked on diverse projects in the energy transition, interacting with various countries and sectors - from Upstream to fugitive methane emissions to renewable energy. At Shell, Sofia works in the Renewable Generation department. In addition, she is the President and Chairwoman of Future Energy Leaders (FEL) Brazil at Shell, a voluntary network for envisioning the Future of Energy and developing Future Leaders in energy to accelerate the energy transition and the company's decarbonization while empowering people and transforming lives, delivering on capacity development, special events, and through the innovation (ideation) hub. At the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP), Sofia is the Shell Representative on the Youth Committee and one of the Founders of Mentes de Energia. In addition, she promoted the Sustainable Development Goals as a Youth Delegate of UNITE 2030 (UN SDG Leadership Program). A STEM woman, her background is in Mechanical Engineering at UFRJ (Brazil) and RWTH Aachen (Germany).
