This is a central question in a context of high uncertainty where energy is again on the top of the global political agenda. Even with improvements in energy efficiency, we expect global energy demand to double by 2050.
The 2013 World Energy Issues Monitor is the latest of the WEC's annual assessment of the issues impacting the global and regional energy sector based on the views of the WEC's energy leadership community.
By offering a clear and impartial picture of the global energy agenda and its evolution over time, the World Energy Issues Monitor creates the base for a meaningful dialogue among the Global Energy Leaders Community to focus on a set of clearly identified priorities and build a sustainable energy future for all.
The objectives of this “barometer” for global energy issues are:
Understand the world energy agenda in 2013 and its evolution over time
Identify key priorities for leaders globally, by region and in selected countries
Assess the degree of impact and uncertainty of specific issues on the energy sector among 4 categories: macroeconomic risks, geopolitics and regional issues, business environment, energy vision & technology
