Energy Transitions Research Fellow, Africa Institute of Environmental Law
Aina Kauluma is a seasoned renewable energy professional holding an MSc in Renewable Energy from the University of Namibia and is a laureate of the Africa School of Physics. As a recipient of the first Namibia Youth for Green Hydrogen Scholarship, she completed a research placement at the University of Stuttgart, where she co-authored a research paper on hydrogen systems. She has contributed to pioneering work in Namibia's green hydrogen sector, where, at just 27, she led the Renewable Energy department at the Daures Green Hydrogen Village. She was selected for the inaugural cohort of the African Women in Energy Regulation-Leadership Programme 2025, which brought together emerging female leaders from across the continent. She currently applies her technical expertise as a Just Energy Transitions Research Fellow with the Africa Institute of Environmental Law, a regional think tank working at the intersection of energy and natural resource governance. Further supporting her community-centred approach, she served on Namibia's first EU-Namibia Youth Sounding Board and is now a member of the Global Shapers Hub, where youth members drive sustainable change within their communities.
