Colas Cabriel

Colas Cabriel is an energy specialist and professor based in Paris, France. After graduating from CentraleSupelec (France) with an engineering degree in Energy and Sciences-Po Paris with an MA in public affairs, Colas worked for two years in diplomacy in Tbilisi, Georgia. He then joined RTE, the French Transmission System Operator, in the department in charge of Tariff negotiations with the regulatory authority. He then took on the role of Grid Connection manager for the Normandy region (France), dealing with decarbonization zones where new consumers -such as hydrogen producers- settle, and industrial plants switch from gas to electricity. He now holds a position of market designer, working on new services enabling Battery Energy Storage Systems to manage electricity grid congestion. Alongside his work, Colas is active in teaching activities, giving lectures in energy and economics for French and international students. He is also involved in the activities of the French Energy Council, coordinating the Young Energy Professional program in France, working with French FEL on national initiatives.
