Esther Evening is a Sustainability and Strategy Analyst at Mercury, where she plays a key role in integrating climate-related disclosures into corporate strategy and engaging with senior stakeholders, including the board. With extensive expertise in the energy sector, she has worked across customer operations and sustainability, developing expertise in climate governance, policy, and industry engagement.

Esther is also the Co-Chair of the Young Energy Professionals Network (YEPN) New Zealand, leading initiatives to connect and empower emerging leaders in the sector. She is passionate about ensuring younger representation in governance and supporting a diverse future workforce.

She holds a strong interest in governance and leadership, particularly in how businesses navigate long-term climate challenges. Esther is actively involved in industry discussions on energy transition and has contributed to strategic planning on AI and sustainability. She is committed to shaping a resilient, future-focused energy, not just in New Zealand, but on a global scale.
