Kaidi Ru is an energy and urban infrastructure consultant interested in technology, development, public policy and the water-food-energy nexus. Outside of work, she is a World Bank 2024 Max Thabiso Edkins Climate Ambassador, a YOUNGO-nominated observer to the UNFCCC Technology Executive Committee (TEC), and a member of the UNFCCC Climate Technology Centre & Network (CTCN) Gender and Climate Technology Expert Roster. Kaidi holds a BA in International Development from King's College London and an MPhil in Management with Commendation from the University of Cambridge.

Most recently, Kaidi was selected as a 2024 Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) Fellow, where she led a team of six to develop a strategic framework to facilitate the development of domestic carbon markets in Africa. She contributed to the BRICS Youth Energy Outlook 2024 as a Business in Energy Sector (BE) Young Expert Group member, focusing on intra-BRICS energy trade and cross-border ventures and investments. Last year, Kaidi also contributed to the new edition of the Beijing+30 Youth and Civil Society Engagement Toolkit as a member of the UN Women 30 for 2030 Youth Leadership Network.
