Senior Strategy Officer, Rural Electrification Authority (Zambia)

Kapungwe Chibamba is a Senior Strategy Officer at Zambia’s Rural Electrification Authority, where he supports the expansion of reliable and affordable electricity for rural communities through grid extension and decentralised renewable energy solutions.
He leads strategic planning and performance management processes, translating national priorities and development partner programmes into actionable workplans, budgets, and results frameworks. His work includes energy-sector economic analysis, project investment appraisal, and financial modelling to inform investment decisions and strengthen value for money.
Kapungwe also supports stakeholder engagement and partnership development across government, financiers, development partners, and the private sector to accelerate energy access delivery. He has contributed to institutional improvement initiatives, including strategic plan reviews, business continuity planning, and the development of performance dashboards that enhance accountability and decision-making.
He is a Financial Modelling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA®) and applies a continuous-improvement mindset to advance Zambia’s energy transition and universal access ambitions aligned with SDG7 and Mission 300.
