Meshal AlShalan
Water Circularity & Conservation Lead, Aramco

Meshal Mansour AlShalan is a Research Engineer at Saudi Aramco within the Upstream Advanced Research Center, where he works on decarbonization, Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS), hydrogen technologies, and water circularity initiatives. With experience spanning reservoir engineering, operations, facilities engineering, and sustainable energy research, he has contributed to projects focused on techno-economic analysis, life cycle assessment, geothermal systems, and CO₂ utilization technologies.
Meshal holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering Practice from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from West Virginia University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He has also worked with Aspen Technology and Woodside Energy on sustainability and energy transition projects.
Beyond his technical work, Meshal has represented Saudi Arabia in global leadership platforms, including the World Economic Forum and Misk Foundation initiatives, with a strong interest in advancing collaboration, innovation, and sustainable energy solutions.
