Oliver Hill

Program Leader - Electric Vehicles, RACE for 2030

Oliver Hill is Program Leader for Electric Vehicles and Victoria Node Leader at the RACE for 2030 CRC, Australia's leading cooperative research centre for consumer-centred energy transitions. He manages a $14M research portfolio spanning vehicle-to-grid (V2G), EV adoption, and the integration of transport and energy systems — work that sits at the intersection of research, policy, and commercial deployment. Oliver represents Australia on the International Energy Agency's Task 53, an international body advancing the interoperability of bidirectional charging. He was instrumental in designing Australia's National Bidirectional Charging Roadmap and the Vehicle-Grid Network — Australia’s national collaboration platform for EV-to-grid integration — and is a recognised EV and grid integration expert, regularly appearing before Parliamentary inquiries on electric vehicles and transport electrification. With transport electrification forecast to become the single largest source of increased electricity demand out to 2050, Oliver's work sits at the centre of one of the defining infrastructure challenges of our time. He brings an ability to translate complex technical and regulatory challenges into practical, consumer-centred solutions — bridging the gap between research and real-world energy transformation across Australia and internationally.
