Shamma Saqer Alabdulla
PV Engineer, Masdar

Eng. Shamma is a Solar PV engineer with a passion for clean energy solutions working at Masdar, one of the world’s fastest-growing renewable energy companies. She is involved in designing, developing, and techno-commercial optimizing large-scale solar PV projects. Shamma is supporting Masdar in achieving its 100GW target of renewable energy capacity by 2030. She is involved in the largest bids in the MENA region. She’s also the technical lead of the first largest solar PV plant in Georgia and involved in other projects in their early-stage development. In 2026, she received a certificate of appreciation, along with her colleagues in recognition of their efforts after the successful financial closure of the largest bid (SPPC 5).
She received her MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the American University of Sharjah in 2023 and her BSc in Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering with honors from the University of Sharjah in 2020.
Eng. Shamma was a Research Assistant prior to joining Masdar, which resulted in:
- Several published papers related to renewable energy and mechanical energy storage.
- Co-authored a book on PV technology and manufacturing.
