Thabiso Phosholi

Thabiso Phosholi is the Head of Investment and Infrastructure, where he leads project preparation, investment structuring, and intergovernmental coordination for strategic energy and infrastructure initiatives. He has helped advance a gas-based Special Economic Zone linked to Virginia LNG and helium operations, expanded the investor pipeline through expressions of interest and letters of intent, and supported the progression of major renewable energy projects by helping resolve municipal bottlenecks. He also contributes to climate finance readiness work and serves as a Young Expert in the BRICS Youth Energy Agency, with a focus on energy access and affordability. Thabiso holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Energy Leadership from Wits Business School, an MSc in Building Construction Project Management, a Master’s degree in Economics from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and a BA in International Economics and Trade from Wuhan University. His professional development includes the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, Python for Finance training, and the McKinsey Forward Programme. He has also recently received an offer to pursue a PhD focused on the South African Wholesale Electricity Market.
