Yu Lin is an engineer at the Sino-Portuguese Centre for New Energy Technologies (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (SCNET), specialising in offshore renewable energy and ocean engineering. With academic backgrounds from Technical University of Denmark, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and Wuhan University of Technology, he has built extensive expertise in floating offshore wind power, structural design, and hydrodynamic analysis.
Over the past five years, Yu has contributed to several national and provincial-level projects in China’s offshore energy sector, including the development of the country’s first floating offshore wind turbine, “CTG Pioneer,” and one of China’s leading floating wind demonstration projects. He has authored multiple EI-level papers, secured several Chinese invention patents, and contributed to industry standards related to floating offshore wind power.
As the lead for international exchanges at SCNET, Yu has also played a key role in fostering international cooperation, securing national-level collaborative projects, and building partnerships with organizations such as DNV, EDP Renewables, and X1 Wind. His broader interests include green hydrogen, microgrids, compressed air energy storage, and geothermal energy, reflecting his commitment to advancing innovative and sustainable energy systems.
