Jonathan Pollock

Network Assets RP7 Project Manager, Northern Ireland Electricity Networks

Upon graduating from Queens University Belfast with a first-class master’s degree in electrical and electronic engineering, Jonny took up a post with Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) Networks, having been sponsored by them as an undergraduate through the Power Academy Scholarship. Since then he has spent the last decade working on energy transition related matters within the fields of operations, innovation, network planning, business strategy and price control submissions. This included an 18-month secondment with ESB Networks. Whilst engineering remains his core competency he has been heavily involved in regulatory, financial and stakeholder engagement activities. In 2021 Jonny received chartered engineer status from the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET). He enjoys collaborating within a team environment, be that on a rugby pitch or within the office and has significantly contributed to CIGRE, Energy Network Association (ENA) and Department for Economy (DfE) working groups.
